Cookie By Jacqueline Wilson

Rating: ****

For your information this is another Jacqueline Wilson book but the last for a while as I have got some books by a different author. This book I thought was impressive as you could feel the way poor Floss felt when she was given the option that could change her live, Mum or Dad.

Tom’s midnight garden by Philippa Pearce

Ages: 8+

Ratings: *****

This book was amazing and I couldn’t put it down! In the story Tom gets sent away to his aunt and uncle’s house to stay the summer leaving behind his family, as his younger brother has got measles. At first Tom thought it was unfair, however later on, when Tom found the garden, he tried to and delay his trip home as he found a new friend.

Olivia has also written a review on this so before you read check out her opinion too.

Tom has to go and stay with his aunt and uncle because his brother has measles. He discovers the Midnight Garden and a new friend…but who is she really?

The ending is really intriguing and makes me want to find out more. The start however is a bit confusing but you eventually pick it up.

At the end when Mrs Bartholomew asks to speak to Tom I thought something bad might happen and my heart was thumping loudly.

I loved this book and couldn’t put it down.

This book is amazing and is great to get stuck into because it is the first book in a series of 12 so they will last you ages! I strongly recommend it to any one interested in old classics. (Just because they are old doesn’t mean they aren’t good!)  Any way as I said before this  book is amazing!

Three different ideas. Three different careers. Will these three charms of girls survive their first year of stage school. Correction, how will they survive their first year of stage school. A delicate story, bringing tales of wonder to life. Poor girls.
